"People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is 'you're safe with me' - that's intimacy."

I have spent decades accompanying people at life's most threshold moments, as a midwife at home births, as a women's healer, as a daughter, mother and grandmother. I have sat with people in the places where pretence falls away.
That is the quality of presence I bring to couples work. Not clinical distance, but genuine interest and steadiness, a commitment to holding space for your relationship, and for the truth within it.
When you sit with me, the session has already begun. I will have read what you shared, held your intentions, and built this time around you specifically. Nothing here is off the shelf.
I work as a coach, which means the work is yours. I offer questions, reflections, time, guided exercise and, when you want it, the perspective that comes from years of accompanying intimate human life.
For couples who want to step into something new: a dedicated space to slow down, explore patterns and desires, and leave with tools and practices to carry forward. Sessions are 3 or 4 hours, created freshly for you based on what you share with me in advance.
For couples who want change. This is structured work across several sessions. The work continues between them. New ways of being together, identified in the room, need to be practiced, lived, and tested in the challenges of daily life. We return to explore what has shifted, what has held, and what needs to go deeper. We honour the work being done & celebrate.
Before we meet, I will invite you to share your intentions. I use this to shape your session.
The session itself may be a blend of conversation, guided exercises and touch practices. Every element is chosen for you, for this moment.
Within the session, you will have space to speak and be heard, to move, to explore. I listen with care, reflect what I observe, and offer questions that help you go deeper. We close with something concrete: practices, agreements, or commitments you can take home.
For couples in journey work, I offer contact between sessions. Each partner can write to me separately, their own private thread, unread by the other. I witness what is shared, and occasionally reflect. This means I arrive at our next meeting already knowing what has been moving underneath.
Individual coaching sessions are also available alongside couples work, for either partner who feels the need for their own space to explore.
"My partner and I have worked with Anja as a couple for a number of years. We reached a point in our relationship where we both felt we needed to make a conscious shift — certain things weren't working beneath all the layers we had built together over 27 years. We approached Anja for support. In a three-hour session, the three of us co-created a conscious separation of three months, designed to allow us to rediscover ourselves as individuals while still honouring the third body — our relationship — and gaining the perspective we so needed. It was a difficult and courageous process, undertaken together and witnessed by Anja, who held us firmly throughout. She helped us design a process that could work alongside our family and the practicalities of daily life. She also held individual weekly check-in sessions for each of us, so we both felt seen and supported. When we came back together after three months, so much had changed. Anja guided us in understanding and appreciating what we had each learned and created. From there, we explored how to carry those learnings forward and deepen our relationship in a way that felt more sustainable and true. Personally, I would not have had the courage or creativity to design this process without Anja's wisdom and guidance. She was able to see and understand our relationship in ways we hadn't even considered. I feel this journey led us both to a far greater understanding of ourselves within our long-term relationship — something of immense value not only to us, but to our children, our family, and our wider community."

"We have worked with Anja for a number of years to enable our relationship to discover new places which help us cross thresholds, not always easy, to reach our fuller selves individually, and together. This work has been, and continues to be invaluable to us. I feel the ripples we create together not only benefit us but travel through our children, family, communities and the wider world."

"Anja surpassed our expectations in helping us deepen our connection as a couple. She is a wise, intuitive and insightful guide with a great capacity to observe what was unfolding between us and then reflect back to us in easily understood language, with gentle exercises to explore the emerging issues. We particularly appreciated the experiential and embodied nature of Anja's work, encouraging us to move from our heads into our hearts, allowing us to let go of much of the noise and stories which had been interrupting intimacy. Her work is both accessible and profound and we would warmly recommend Anja to any partnership considering couples coaching."

"The session was profoundly insightful, challenging and helpful. Like a wise friend pointing to the hurts and power in me."
